Inflation on rise before Ramazan

Monday, July 16, 2012 - Rawalpindi—With the Holy month of Ramadan just over the horizon, prices of commodities in the Rawalpindi city and environs have skyrocketed.

Administration is being alleged to sell impounded commodities at cheaper rates, while smuggling to neighboring countries is also on the rise, making prices exorbitant.

Meat and poultry prices have also risen considerably, while civil society has demanded immediate rescind in prices, threatening civil agitation against the business and traders’ community. —Online
