Arrangements finalized to set up ‘Sasta Ramazan Bazaars’

Monday, July 16, 2012 - Rawalpindi—All arrangements have been finalized to set up ‘Sasta Ramazan’ Bazaars in Rawalpindi district for the provision of relief to the consumers during the upcoming holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik.

These ‘Sasta Ramazan’ Bazaars will be set up at Liaquat Bagh, Murree Road near Nawaz Sharif Park, Haideri Chowk, Rehmanabad and Committee Chowk in Rawal Town and other places.

According to city district government spokesman, total 14 ‘Sasta Ramazan’ bazaars to be set up in Rawalpindi district. He said the city district government Rawalpindi has finalized all the arrangements to establish ‘Sasta Bazaars’ where availability of quality food items on subsidized rates would be ensured.

The spokesman said all out efforts in accordance with the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab would be made to provide relief to the citizens.

He said, these bazaars would be set up in Rawalpindi city and cantonment board areas including at Committee Chowk, Infront of Nawaz Sharif Park, Dhoke Kala Khan, Chungi No 22, Chor Chowk and Liaquat Bagh.

The citizens will be able to purchase all kitchen items including ‘atta’ sugar, dall, basin, meat, chicken, onion, potatoes, ‘ghee’ and other products of daily use at subsidized rates which will be 15 to 30 percent less to the open markets rates. Besides, fresh vegetables, fruits and dates would also be available in these bazaars. He informed that special price control magistrates would be appointed in each bazaar to keep check on the prices and quality of the kitchen items.

All possible facilities for the convenience of the citizens would also be provided there. Price magistrates would not only check the rates in ‘Sasta Ramazan’ Bazaars but also in the open market particularly during ramazan and those found involved in profiteering would be imposed heavy fines.
