Deals signed to fetch Iranian investment

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Peshawar—Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has signed as number of agreements to bring Iranian investments into the country, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said vice president of FPCCI Zubair Ali.

While addressing a group of media persons, he said that he had taken a thirteen-member FPCCI business delegation Iran, where the delegation had visited different cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan and others to seek opportunities for trade and investment.

Flanked by few members of the delegation, Ali said the business community of Iran had showed keen interest in investing in various sectors, particularly energy and industrial development. Referring to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that had been signed during their visit to Iran, he said that a modern slaughter house would be established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under public-private venture and the government of Iran would provide technical assistance to equip the slaughter house with modern facilities, important machinery and other equipment.
