3G technology auction to be transparent
Leader of the House Jahangir Badr told Senate during question hour that a committee headed by Finance Minister has been constituted for the auction of the usage rights. He said a consultant is also being appointed to look after the technical aspects of the project.
He said Ministry of Information Technology has issued a policy directive to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in this regard.
He said all the process of auction will be made public and all the information regarding the procedure and development of 3G auction will be available on a website and to the media.
To a question‚ Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan told the House that work on Highway between Chakdara and Timargarah worth 26 million rupees is underway and will be completed by the end of this month.
He said that repair work on 14-kilometer long Talash-Timargarah section have been completed and this section is now pothole free.
To another question‚ the Communications Minister said that M-2 Motorway is of the world class but its life has expired in 2007. He said it requires five inch overlay that will cost twenty billion rupees.
To another question‚ Communications Minister said that an amount of six billion and four hundred fifty million rupees have been allocated for Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project in the Public Sector Development Programme of the current financial year.
