Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Lower Dir—State Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Malik Azmat Khan on Tuesday said that Pakistan Peoples Party during its regime has materialized 80 percent of its manifesto and pledges, it made with masses and shut the mouth of its opponents. Addressing separate gatherings at Tangu Bagh, Mena, Khanpur and Shawa in constituency NA-34, Malik Azmat said PPP did not believe in confrontation of institutions and that was why despite reservations, former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani stepped down from his post without hesitation. The President, he said was taking all decisions in the larger interest of the nation by shunning any foreign pressure. After success to a great extent in war on terror, he said the government was no seriously focussing on addressing the issues of power shortfall and unemployment. He said the PPP always boldly faced the dictatorial forces and did its best to strengthen the democratic norms and institutions in the country adding the government restored the constitution of 1973 in its true form and sense by removing all amendments made during the regime of a dictator which was a great achievement for PPP-led government. He said shutting down NATO supplies through Pakistani route after attack on Salala Check Post was a wise and bold decision of the government and it was only restored after the apology of the US state official in the larger interest of the nation. He said Pakistan has achieved a conspicuous status and importance in comity of nations through its successful foreign policy.
