Research based on economic uplift sought

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Bahawalpur—Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur said that in future the significance of any university will be determined on the basis of research activities going on at the campus. Hence the faculty is required to submit such research projects, considered beneficial for socio-economic development of the region.

The Vice Chancellor was presiding over 57th meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASAR) at Abbasia Campus. Other members included Prof. Dr. Rao Muhammad Afzal Khan, Director BASAR, Deans, Registrar and senior academicians. The BASAR approved to award PhD degree to 26 scholars in various disciplines. The board also reviewed implementation report regarding decisions taken during last meeting. Approval of students for admission/registration and topics of dissertation.
