Brutal killing of soldiers
The terrorist attack in the heart of relatively peaceful Punjab province gives the indication that the enemies have moved their agents beyond Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Balochistan to the centre of Pakistan. It appeared to be a well-conceived plan because the long marchers of Difah-e-Pakistan Council had made a stay in Gujrat and the militants might have joined them from Lahore or during the journey to avoid their search or identification at the check posts under the cover of the Long March. We are certain that the intelligence agencies would investigate the matter and nab the culprits but the attack is part of the conspiracies to hit hard the armed forces wherever possible and to defame them through all sorts of propaganda like involvement in missing persons and operations in Balochistan despite repeated categorical denials by the COAS that the army was in cantonment and no operation was being carried out in the Province. Most of the missing persons in Balochistan or other parts of the country are those who have become tools of inimical forces and shifted to Afghanistan to get training in terrorist activities. The security agencies do not arrest the peaceful citizens and this fact is being ignored. It is a tragedy that while the army is making sacrifices to safeguard the geographical borders of the motherland and suffered heavy casualties along the Durand Line, Salala check post and in Gayari in Siachen, certain so called scholars and analysts are never tired of laying blame on it for involvement in missing persons. As Pakistan is passing through a very difficult period, we would stress that the intelligence agencies must gear up their efforts and foil the designs of the enemies by nabbing those hatching conspiracies.
