Prisoner attempts suicide in Adiala jail

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Rawalpindi—A Prisoner attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself in Central Jail Adiala, Rawalpindi.

As per Assistant superintendent Riaz Ahmed, prisoner Shehbaz Ahmed was serving a drug sentence in cell no 4 and he tried to hang himself by the ventilation shaft using a rope made from old clothes. But other prisoners prevented him from fulfilling his purpose.

The administration has shifted him to hospital and police has registered an attempted suicide case against him.—Online
