Delayed construction of Cardiac Centre


Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Islamabad—The completion of Cardiac Centre of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has been delayed due to negligence of PIMS administration and involvement of ‘commission-mafia’.The project was to be completed by June this year.

Sources have revealed considerable embezzlement in the project.Substandard construction material has been used, and certain individuals have also received kickbacks.

Federal minister for Capital Administration and Development (CAD), Nazar Muhammad Gondal has taken notice of delay in construction of the Cardiac Centre.

He has directed the Capital Development and Administration Division (CADD) to present a detailed report on the matter and has also decided to take stern action against those responsible.

The inquiry committee will file its report to CADD during the current week. Meanwhile, the PIMS high-ups have been busy in efforts for securing them against the proceedings.—Online
