Nawaz and Imran support US: Munter

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - Karachi—US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter in an interview to BBC Urdu said he had met with both Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan who had assured him that they supported the United States.
Munter emphasised that talks with Pakistan did not end with the restoration of the Nato supply route, adding that there was still work to be done in economic development and eliminating terror-ism. “Pakistan needs to be part of the solution not the problem,” Munter said.
The US Ambassador said the Nato supply blockade had isolated Pakistan from 50 friendly countries and the resumption had opened the doors for further cooperation. Munter added that the issue of expenses was not part of the negotiations for the resumption of the route.
