CS for strict action against profiteers

Monday, June 25, 2012 - Karachi—Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas has directed the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments to ensure stability of prices as per rules and regulations, so that the people could get daily use items on reasonable rates.

He also directed them to take measures to control the menace of overcharging, hoarding, profiteering and marketing of the sub-standard and adulterated items.

The chief secretary with the specifics reference of various public complaints and news reports categorically noted that the prices of food items and other committees must be controlled in order to stabilize the economy and maintaining the consumers equilibrium. Raja Muhammad emphasized upon taking legal action under the rules against the defaulters.—APP
