Monday, June 25, 2012 - Lahore—As many as 20,000 patients are affected every day by a strike in Outdoor Patients Departments (OPDs) in public sector hospitals on the call of the Young Doctors Association (YDA). Only in Mayo Hospital, around 5,000 patients have been suffering due to the strike, said a doctor on the condition of anonymity.
However, PMA leaders and senior doctors do not support the strike at the cost of the suffering of patients and called for some others ways to record their protest. About 120,000 patients had suffered due to a weeklong strike by the YDA in April.
