Pakistan needs a just system

Syed Hassam Ahmed

Monday, June 25, 2012 - Different segments of the society have demanded newly appointed Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf to show the details of his assets. According to the election commission of Pakistan, the total worth of his assets is Rs. 7 Crore 64 Lac and 50 thousands (76.54 Million) while he is to receive a total of Rs. 80 Lac from his brother by 31st December, 2012.

The biggest reason behind the demand of showing assets is the corruption scandal of Gilani government. Conversely Raja Pervez Ashraf had been the key character in the rental power project scandal worth Rs. 455 billion.

However, these projects were later abandoned by the Supreme Court, which directed National Accountability Bureau to take action against Ashraf, neglected by NAB though. New Prime Minister of Pakistan has a residence in Islamabad Sector-F 8/4 worth Rs. 40 million including a store no. 89 in Islamabad Blue Area worth Rs. 15 million, as per the assets shown to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The only point to mention here is that we the ordinary public of Pakistan shall continue becoming fools and deceived every time by this corrupt ruling system until we create an uprising against this filthy western democratic system. We ought to demand the true, just, Islamic system rather than demanding assets of these well-known corrupt leaders. The major issue today in Pakistan is not corrupt leaders but the corrupt ruling system.

This system will continue to yield fruits to likes Zardari, Gilani and now the latest Pervez Ashraf unless we do not stand against it. We need to go back to our actual, true Islamic system that was abolished about a century ago.
