Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - Astore—The PPP-led federal government has given identity to the masses of Gilgit-Baltistan through the constitutional package. This was stated by Special Advisor to Prime Minister and Member Gilgit-Baltistan Council Wazir Ibadat while talking to reporters here Tuesday. He said scores of poor families of the region were getting benefits through Benazir Income Support Programme, which was running successfully in all the districts. He said he was well aware of the problems of the masses and trying his best to resolve the same. Ibadat said a number of development projects were in progress in the district while some would be approved in the coming financial year as well. Meanwhile, Member Union Council Aftab Khan Dar appreciated the efforts of Executive Engineer B & R Aman Ali Shah in opening Kilishai road. A delegation of village Kilishai led by Aftab Khan told media that the road was closed for every kind of traffic since past eight months. The delegation said Shah was an honest officer and a number of developmental projects in different areas were being smoothly run under his supervision. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was the only party which had empowered the masses of Gilgit-Baltistan, said President Peoples Youth Organization (PYO) Saif Ullah on Tuesday. Talking to reporters here he said the party had always fought for the rights and welfare of masses. The programmes like Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) were ample proof of the fact, he said.
