Constitution custodian

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - Islamabad—Federal Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division Nazar Muhammad Gondal on Tuesday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was the custodian of the Constitution, democracy and people’s rights. Talking to media, he said PPP leaders including Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto have sacrificed their lives for the democracy and people of the country. He said PPP’s founder Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had given a unanimous Constitution to the country in 1973 and the present government has restored the it in its original form. Gondal said Asif Ali Zardari is the only president who returned his powers to the Parliament. He said PPP has always considered people as the real power and with their support it will resolve the problems of masses. He said PPP’s founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had given a unanimous Constitution to the country in 1973 that has made the country intact. To a question, he said the present democratic government has restored the Constitution in its original form. Gondal said Asif Ali Zardari is the only president who returned his powers to the Parliament. He said PPP has always considered people as the real power and with their support, all conspiracies being hatched against democracy would be frustrated. He said only the PPP will resolve the problems of masses as opposition has no agenda to address them.
