PCG seizes huge quantity of liquor


Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - Karachi—Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) has seized a huge quantity of foreign brand liquor at Zero Point near Uthal (Balochistan).

This was stated in a PCG press release issued here on Tuesday.It said that the PCG official received credible information from intelligence resources about the smuggling of liquor from Coastal Highway near Zero Point.

During checking the PCG officials spotted suspicious Hino Truck. On searching the truck PCG officials recovered 4,150 bottles of foreign brand of liquor and 300 tins of beer hidden under the loose mat material (dry dates leaf).

The truck was coming from Ormara to Karachi. Hino Truck along with three persons were taken under custody by PCG officials, the PCG press release said.

The approximate value of the liquor in the market is Rs. 2,55,00,000.Further investigation is under process by the PCG “Special Investigation Team”, the press release added. APP
