Graduation ceremony at PAF Finishing School

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - Islamabad—Graduation Ceremony of the 32nd batch of students of the PAF Finishing School Islamabad was held at the Officers’ Mess, Air Headquarters Islamabad.

Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chief Guest awarded the certificates to the graduating students.

While addressing at the graduation ceremony the Chief Guest said, “The womenfolk have a vital role to play in the betterment of any society. The saying that “Hands that rock the cradle, rule the world” is an apt description of women’s contribution in shaping the destiny of a nation. In fact, no society can afford to ignore women that account for half of its population.

Earlier, the director of the school presented a report that highlighted the main aspects of the training, which are aimed at transforming young girls into useful members of the society. Later, Begum Rubab Farhat, wife of Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force presented the crest of Finishing School to the Chief Guest.

The PAF Finishing School was established in July 1996 for girls Students. It offers various courses in communication skills, languages, management, art of self presentation, domestic science, general culture, cuisine, protocol, art, child care, introduction to psychology and spiritual enrichment. PAF Finishing School is the first of its kind in Asia, which is a step by Pakistan Air Force towards the promotion of education and literacy in the country.
