Why politicise Holy Qur’an?

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - A business tycoon having moustache, wearing glasses holding a little size book of the holy Qura’an was showing to media professionals in a press conference, alleging against Doctor Arsalan Iftikhar, the son of the honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry, saying that he gave Mr. Arsalan 30 to 40 crore rupees on different occasions.
The point to be noticed here is that the man who already is charged with a hundred of different cases including some of extreme kind cases such as murder, land-grabbing etc, was holding the Holy Qura’an in his hand and proving himself innocent, leveling various allegations against Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar about his visits to London and Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
He on a news channel attended a program recently as a guest in which two senior anchors, male and female, tried fully to prove him an innocent, respectable citizen because they knew that in return, they would be enriched a lot but fortunately, their conspiracies against Chief Justice of Pakistan were foiled by someone in the news channel who leaked their footage while they were talking in the break during the program!
It is a pity that people like Malik Riaz, holding the Holy Qura’an, are swearing falsely today as it is a common book! Previously Dr Zulfiqar Mirza during a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC) held the Holy Qura’an on his head and swore against Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and then MQM chief Altaf Hussein in Britain held the Holy Qura’an and made jokes and now Malik Riaz! It feels that a new trend has started in politics to bring the holy Qura’an and hold it, swearing to be innocent! It is all happening because we are the Muslims just by names and we have forgotten the real teachings of Islam and the Holy Qur’an!
