Illiteracy spoiling country

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - I want to draw the attention of the higher authorities of our country towards the worst issue of illiteracy through your newspaper. This is not a minor issue; it’s a real serious problem which is actually spoiling the roots of our country.
The illiteracy rate of our country is much higher than the literacy rate. Due to this majority of the people are unaware of their own rights. In rural areas people are suffering in the shade of their harsh landlords, they don’t even know how to raise their voice to get rid of this miserable situation. In cities the low literacy rate is upgrading the child labor and the crime rate is also increasing day by day. These illiterate people are suffering from a degrading life.
The Government must take strong steps to overcome this issue. More schools, colleges, universities and awareness centers must be provided to the nation, education till 12th grade must be free or at low affordable fees. In cities child labor must be avoided and let those kids to get education. Government should also provide more scholarships so that lower and middle class people will also be able to get higher education. Media must also play its leading role and students of universities and colleges should also start education awareness campaigns in cities and villages.
The jobs should be given on the basis of education and aptitude of the person not on the basis of fake degrees or certificates. The Government must also stop giving jobs on source to illiterate and unworthy people. It will raise the literacy graph of our country. Every single person must step forward to solve this issue in his own limits.
