28 Pakistanis deported from Greece


Wednesday, May 09, 2012 - Islamabad—As many as 28 Pakistanis deported from Greece over illegal stay and incomplete documents arrived here on Tuesday.

According to details, 28 Pakistan who were deported by Greece authorities landed at Islamabad airport through a private airline and were taken into custody by immigration officials.

The immigration staff recorded the statements of deportees before shifting them to Anti-Human Trafficking cell.

The deportees belong to various districts of Punjab and only one person belongs to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

It should be mentioned that Greece and Turkey deport hundreds of Pakistani illegal immigrants annually.

Many Pakistani young men seeking jobs in Greece and other European countries pay large sum of money, sometimes by borrowing and sometimes by selling assets of their families, to traffickers to help them travel abroad.—INP
