Akhtar JamalSunday, March 11, 2012 - Islamabad – There are reports that several militants active along Pak-Afghan border and aligned with Taliban movement are travelling to Lebanon and Turkey via Gulf states to join the “Free Syria Army” against President Bashar al Assad regime.
Reliable sources told this scribe that as many as fifty militants have already made their way to join the Opposition-led “Free Syria Army” while dozen others are already preparing to join the movement within next few days and weeks.
Afghan Taliban web site reproduced a write-up on Saturday claiming that Syrian regime has been torturing the opponents and using brutal ways to suppress them.
Meanwhile Qatar‘s Prime Minister Sheik Hamad bin Jassem Al Thani has called for recognition of recognize Syrian National Council as a “legitimate representative” of the Syrian people stressing need for international troops to be sent to Syria to deal with the current regime.
“It is time to send Arab and international troops to Syria,” he said at the opening of the 137th session of the Arab League nations in Cairo on Saturday.
