Observer ReportThursday, November 10, 2011 - Faisalabad—All fruits of national resources will be disseminated to the general public for improving their life standard.
This was stated by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while inaugurating a residential scheme at Shahbaz Nagar in Chak No 8-JB near here on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said that Model Colony of Shahbaz Nagar was sprawling more than 12 acres of land where residents of Katchi Abadis would be allotted houses.
The Punjab Government had provided land for this Model Colony free of charge while local philanthropists, traders and businessmen provided funds for the construction of houses and residences, he added.
He said that this was best housing scheme in which all basic civic amenities including the provision of sewerage system, brick lined streets, playgrounds, water filtration plant, mosque and commercial market were present.
Shahbaz said, this housing scheme was reflecting the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal and this project would also be expanded to other parts of Punjab.
He appreciated the generosity of the local philanthropists and urged upon the public representatives to get this project introduced in other parts of Faisalabad. He announced to establish a girl college and vocational training institution for girls in Faisalabad.
He also announced that Punjab government would provide free of charge education to 10 talented students of Shahbaz Nagar, whereas new roads would be constructed in Chak 100-JB in addition to repair and rehabilitate the existing ones.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the newly constructed houses of Model Colony and distributed Eid gifts and edible items among the residents.
On this occasion, the chief minister also laid down foundation stone for the construction of a mosque in Shahbaz Nagar.
Briefing the Chief Minister, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq said that 250 houses were constructed in Model Colony of Shehbaz Nagar. He said, all these houses were equipped with latest facilities of urban areas and were allotted to the poor and deserving families totally free of charge.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sana Ullah Khan, senior leader PML-N Parvaiz Rasheed, MNAs Chaudhary Abid Sher Ali, Haji Akram Ansari, Begum Khalida Mansoor, Chaudhary Asim Nazeer, MPAs Khwaja Muhammad Islam, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Zafar Iqbal Nagra, Chaudhary Raza Nasrullah Ghumman, Mrs. Anjum Safdar, Joel Aamir Sahotra, Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Rae Ejaz Husain Kharl, former MPA Sheikh Ejaz, Talal Badar Chaudhary and Chaudhary Faqeer Husain Dogar were also present.
