Indonesian CG holds National Day reception

Saturday, August 20, 2011 - Karachi—The Indonesian consul general in Karachi Rossalis R Adenan holds a grand reception at a local hotel here on Thrursday to celebrate his country’s national day.
The reception was largely attended by leading businessmen, politician, including senator Haseeb Khan and former deputy mayoress of Karachi Nasreen Jalil, leding journalists, and elite of the town.
A lavish iftar and dinner was laid out in the Holy month of Ramazan. The guests talked mostly about the rapidly deteriorating situation in Karachi, where blood is flowing on its streets like water. The death toll was horrendous.
However businessmen like S M Munir looked optimistic of the situation getting under control soon. Because of Ramazan, social activities have slowed down considerably, and even Eid shopping has been heavily curtailed.
Rising gold prices are yet another worry for jewellers because those planning marriages in the coming month of Shawwal were reluctant to spend muchb on gold and in fact looked for other options.
