Fight fair..!

Saturday, July 23, 2011 - Last night as I heard about the three bomb blasts in Mumbai, saw photos of the victims, many dead or dismembered, I asked myself how things had reached such a state that such could happen. Oh, no I am not talking about the reasons for terrorists doing the act.
I am talking about the terrorist himself. When did we start having people who actually volunteer to fight unfair. The worst act of cowardice in a war is to shoot a man in his back.These acts of terrorism are not just shooting men in the back, but doing the same to defenseless women and innocent children. Would you cheer someone who did this to your own mother or child, would you shout, “Bravo! Bravo!” as he came behind your innocent little son and shot him dead?
Fight fair, my friend. Stand in front of your enemy, see that he has the same arms you have and have an equal fight, what you do is the act of a coward. And to think there are many in this world who subscribe to these acts?
What kind of conditioning have you gone through, what brainwashing, that you think leaving a bomb in a marketplace and having dozens of innocents die, is an act of heroism? If you have differences with the ruler of a state, why kill us commoners?
If you have problems with the man who stands behind an array of bodyguards, why don’t you fight your way through those same guards like brave men? Why not reach that man with whom you have a difference with, face him man to man and fight a fair fight? Why creep into my backyard in boats and in the boots of vehicles, silently draw your guns and plant your bombs?
Why kill me the common man? What have I done to deserve your bullet, your bomb? You actually think a God above will look at you and say, “Good job my son!” Do you actually believe so? Do you know that even as you plant those bombs, He weeps for what you do?
How can you believe any God, whatever you call your god, will be pleased with the death of innocent men, women and children? Turn your swords and guns to those who have taught you such untruths! Let those bullets and shrapnel pieces imbedded in the bodies of innocents instead be turned on to those who have instructed you with such untruths.
A good God has instructed us in peace, justice and fairness! If despite my entreaty you want to fight, then fight fair..!
