Islamabad—The Federal Cabinet reiterated determination to fight the menace of terrorism with full force to ensure peace and stability in the country. The Cabinet which met here Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani discussed in detail the challenges of the menace of terrorism and ways and means to control it by enhancing capacity of the law enforcing agencies.

No compromise on court jurisdiction: CJP

Islamabad—Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry Wednesday said that the Supreme Court (SC) would not compromise on its jurisdiction and would not curtail it. A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Ch. Ijaz Ahmed and Justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday took up a constitutional petition filed under Article 184 of the Constitution by Justice Syed Manzoor Hussain Gilani.

Islamabad—Pakistan has received has nothing so far from US out of $125 million announced by Hillary Clinton during her visit to Pakistan in October, 2009 to bailout the country from power crisis on short term basis. “Since then we have received nothing for the overhauling of the Terbela dam’s turbines, four electric power generation companies (Gencos) and 11000 tube well motors,” a senior official at Ministry of Water and Power told Pakistan Observer.

Pakistan reiterates support to Kashmir cause

Islamabad —The National Assembly was assured Wednesday that Pakistan would continue to forcefully support and project the valiant struggle of the Kashmirs people to achieve their inalienable right of self-determination. In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said Pakistan voices its strong concern over any linkages of this indigenous freedom struggle with terrorism.
