DACE orders probe into plots’ bogus allotments

The Director Anti-Corruption Establishment (DACE) Punjab has ordered a probe to unearth allegations regarding bogus allotments of plots/shops and corrupt practices made by the Secretary Market Committee Hafizabad.
According to official source, an old licence of grain market Hafizabad Sheikh Mustafa Ishaq had submitted a complaint to the ACE Punjab that he was an old commission agent of the grain market. According to policy of the market committee the left-out 49 plots should have been allotted to the middlemen who were licence of the market committee since 2002 but the Secretary Market Committee Shahbaz Cheema in collusion with his staff issued bogus food grain licenses to 45 non-businessmen and allotted them plots/shops at throw-away price.
After receiving the complaint copy of which had been sent to the DC Hafizabad, the district administration had withdrawn the allotment letters few days ago.
Meanwhile, local citizens and Chairman Awami Mahaz Rana Khalid Mahmood has appreciated the inquiry ordered by the ACE Punjab to go through the scandal of bogus allotment and withdrawal of fictitious allotment orders by the District Administration. He demanded stern action against the concerned officials.
