CPEC is an investment project: Bijarani

Minister planning and development Mir Hazar khan Bijarani has said that CPEC project is not an economic aid given to Pakistan but it is an investment for the next 15 years. Under the CPEC china would invest 62 Billion dollars for the development of infrastructure and energy. This he said while speaking in the Inauguration ceremony of three day International conference on CPEC at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto convention centre University of Sindh Jamshoro.
He further added that the CPEC is a game changer not only for Pakistan but for entire region . The project will usher in a new era of development and progress in Pakistan . It will address the grievances of of Baluchistan by removing the prevailing sense of deprivation and discrimination. It will be an economic boom in the shape of trade and investment and will render the doors of jobs open for the youth of Balochistan introducing them with modern technology and innovative skills . The oil and mineral resources of the province would be explored the establishment of Gawadar port Gawadar international Airport and special economic zones (SEZs) will further enhance the strategic and economic potential of Balochistan.
The Minister viewed that it would pass through the under developed parts of the country, hence will provide greater economic benefits and opportunities to the people of Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The CPEC would not only attract tourism and foreign investment but would also help Pakistan overcome its prevailing energy crisis.
He concluded that the challenges pertaining to the CPEC such as Security concerns of the Chinese side, issues of route controversies and the demand of various political parties and their leaders must be settled amicably in time.
The conference was also attended by Minister Planning & Development Commission Ahsan Iqbal, Chairman Senate Committee on CPEC Senator Mushahid Hussain and Vice Chancellor Sindh University Jamshoro Dr. Fateh Muhammad Barfat.
