Court exempts Ayyan from presence

Rawalpindi—Customs Court in Rawalpindi granted model Ayyan Ali’s plea for exemption of attending the hearing of currency smuggling case on Tuesday.
The model’s counsel Sardar Latif Khosa had filed a petition seeking her exemption from attending the court proceedings today. He stated that his client could not appear before the court due to personal commitments. The court accepted his plea and adjourned the hearing till 6th October.
It should be noted that Ayyan Ali was arrested on March 14, 2015, on charges of money laundering after customs officials recovered over 500,000 US dollars from her luggage at Islamabad airport before she could reportedly board a flight to Dubai.
