In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has termed the concern expressed by the United Nations and the Amnesty International over the situation in Kashmir as satisfactory.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar hoped that the world bodies would take further steps towards the resolution of the lingering dispute.
The international human rights watchdog, Amnesty International on April 15 had said that the two recent videos on social networking sites from Jammu and Kashmir appearing to show the use of torture and excessive force by forces must lead to the prosecution in civilian courts of those suspected to be responsible.
He said New Delhi through its deceitful politics cannot mislead the world on Kashmir and has to come to terms with resolving the dispute.
He said that Pakistan and the people of Kashmir had been since last 70 years calling for the intervention of world bodies and nations but India to cover up its crimes in the held-territory always created hurdles in this regard.—KMS
