CM seeks Italy assistance for protection of archaeological sites

Karachi—Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he was trying to work for the preservation and protection of archaeological sites in the province.
For the purpose Sindh government needs necessary assistance from donor agencies. This he said while talking to Ambassador of Italy, Stefano Pontecorve, who met him here at the CM House on Thursday.
He was accompanied by Gianluca Rubagotti. Principal Secretary to CM Naveed Kamran Baloch was also present.
CM Sindh said that the UNESCO was supporting Sindh government for rehabilitation of archaeological site of Makli and similarly work on Moen-jo-Daro is goes on. Apart from it, there are lot of sites which need to be preserved and protected.
The Ambassador of Italy said that he had enough funds of $4 to $5 million for preserving archeological sites for which his government was ready to work Sindh government.
In the meeting they agreed to further coordinate on the matter. Later, the chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented Sindhi cap, ajrak and memento to the visiting diplomat.
