CDA to start work on Bhara Kahu bypass, cable car project in Margalla Hills

Islamabad—In order to streamline traffic flow towards Murree in peak season, Capital Development Authority is planning to construct Bhara Kahu Bypass and all the formalities in this regard like acquisition of land, payment to affectees, approval of the PC-I etc, will be completed by the end of this year.
A high-level meeting chaired by CADD Minister of State Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday reviewed Islamabad’s development and uplift projects and agreed there should be no further delay in execution of the projects. Besides Bhara Kahu Bypass, cable car project on the Margalla Hills also came under discussion and the minister directed the authorities concerned to speed up work on that too. Mayor of Islamabad and CDA Acting Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Members of the CDA and senior officials of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation and Capital Development Authority also attended the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed construction of Multi-Purpose Club in Islamabad. The CADD minister said Islamabad should turn into a model and the most beautiful city in the country. We shall make Shahra-e-Dastoor a model road he said. He asked the Mayor to ensure lighting, carpeting, landscaping and decoration of the road before the upcoming SAARC conference.
The meeting also discussed alternative route for the SAARC guests due to the ongoing repair work of the Signal Free Corridor on Islamabad Highway. The meeting agreed to give possession letters to the allotees of the Park Enclave and in-time completion of Kurri Model Village. The meeting also reviewed development work for the sectors C-15 and I-15. The stalled work in various sectors should be expedited and new policy should be formulated for in-time payment to the affectees, the meeting resolved.
