So-called IOK polls violate UN Kashmir rulings

Secretary General Kashmir Peace Institute has condemned the continued killings of Kashmiri youth in India-held Kashmir, saying socalled elections there were violation of United Nations Kashmir rulings of 1951 and 1953.
UN Security Council had plainly said in its 1951 and 1953 Kashmir resolutions that no partisan ‘election’ in India-occupied Kashmir could be held valid as they go against the principles of internationally UN supervised plebiscite which was yet to be held there to decide the political fate of the region and its people.
Syed Hameed Shaheen Alvi hailed the recent statements of the UN Secretary General Mr Antonio Guterres stressing resolution of Kashmir dispute; the Secreytary General had said that he felt no reluctance in dealing with the Kashmir dispute.
The Secretary General said that the unity of the Kashmiri voters has shown the due result when the Srinagar electoral constituency fell flat.
He condemned continued imprisonment of elderly Kashmiri leaders including of APHC.
He appealed to the UN Secretary General to call a Kashmiri leaders conference; Kashmiris are the suffering class; they are direct affectees of unsettled Kashmir dispute woes.
He urged AJK government to hold a protest day against the youth killings in held Kashmir.
