Business women urged to get expertise in social media marketing


Lahore—Business women of Pakistan should gain expertise in Social Media Marketing techniques to promote their products in national and international markets. According to spokesperson here Sunday, this was the upshot of speakers at a training workshop, organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) in collaboration with Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Multan division.
Tania Buttar, In-charge Women Entrepreneurship Development Cell of SMEDA and WCCI representatives addressed the workshop. On this occasion, a renowned Marketing Expert Areeb Masood acknowledged that handicrafts being manufactured by women artisans in south Punjab had a great demand in national markets. But the products could also be promoted in the international markets by adopting social media marketing techniques, which were the most suitable technique for business women working in least developed areas of Pakistan, as the marketing through social media does not need anybody to move out and travel across the boundaries of cities and countries, he added.
Ms Tania said that social media was cost-effective as well as the most convenient marketing tool for women of Pakistan, who did not afford costly advertisements and excessive travelling for marketing. She added that business women could use social media also for sale of their products. The SMEDA representative assured the business women that the Authority would fully support them in making their businesses viable and profitable through modern business management and marketing techniques.—APP
