Bridging the skill gap

Sundus Fatima

Pakistan with its large diversified population is jeopardized due to its authentic problem of unemployment. Hence, “Skill Development” serves as best alternative for solving this problem. But, at the same time problem of inadequate financing for skill development cannot be neglected. This function must be shared between Government and Private sector.
Government must strengthen its CSR funding(Corporate Social Responsibility funds) allocated to spend on vocational training by increasing its general tax revenue especially from corporate tax and Private firms must be funded by the government separately and it must be made mandatory through overhauled mechanism .This will enhance skilled labour and add up to the potential of our human resource.
