In occupied Kashmir, the protests against braid-chopping in the Valley have finally reached the power corridors in Srinagar as government employees of Civil Secretariat protested against the growing incidents and demanded identification and subsequent action against the culprits.
Witnesses said that female staff of the Civil Secretariat assembled outside the office of Chief Secretary, BB Vyas, in Srinagar and staged a sit-in demanding action against the braid choppers.
Meanwhile, braid of a 27-year-old woman was chopped off in Wangipora area of Sumbal in Bandipora district on Tuesday. Reports said that the woman (name withheld) was in the washroom when two unknown persons sprayed something on her, knocking her unconscious.
“Her family members found her unconscious in the washroom and also found her chopped off hair. She was taken to CHC Sumbal in an unconscious state,” they said.
