Azerbaijan shows interest in buying JF-17s

Baku—Azerbaijan could be interested in purchasing Pakistani defence products, including the upgraded version of Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter aircraft. In November, a high-level delegation will come to Pakistan to attend the Defence-Expo scheduled be held in Karachi. The delegation will also visit defence production facilities in Pakistan to look into the possibility of buying defence-related products.
Pakistan has offered Azerbaijan several indigenously developed defence products, including the JF-17 fighter and Mushshaq trainer aircraft. At present, Pakistan is selling some conventional weaponry to the US, UK, Germany and some Far Eastern countries.
Other defence products offered include armoured and unarmoured vehicles, command and control systems, ammunition, body armour and personnel protection systems, and anti-aircraft defence systems.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan have already built a steady foundation for extensive cooperation in a number of different areas related to defence, security and trade.—Agencies
