Automobiles industry eyes $5b export target

Karachi—As against a global trade of automobile industry, auto parts global trade is at 600 billion a year t PAPAAM shall try to prepare the Pakistani auto parts industry to a target of $5 billion export target. This was stated by Mashood Khan newly elected Chairman PAAPAM who desires to facilitate its members to build export-oriented companies so that a ten fold increase in sales and investments can be achieved by the Auto Parts industry of Pakistan. Auto Manufacturers (PAAPAM) on the occasion of successfully completing 28 years and now the best leading business support organization in Pakistan with its own research and training wing, PSDC.
He said that the Association assisted the federal government to make policies for combating smuggling, illegal import and wholesome customs tariff in the automotive industry. PAPAAM has also supported automotive OEMs to play a vital role in increasing localization, leading to more jobs and taxes for the country. In the previous four months, Mashood Khan personally visited eight countries i.e Germany, USA, Italy, France, Africa, China and Turkey where he met with the different representatives of many organizations and focused on 2 points including participation in the exhibition of Auto Parts 2017 to be in held on 3rd March, 2017 at the Karachi Expo Centre, Pakistan besides making a strong liaison between auto part manufacturers associations, worldwide.
He was happy to inform that several associations and business groups have shown keen interest in participating in the forthcoming PAPS 2017 Show. Strong presence of companies and visitors from Germany, Turkey, China, Taiwan and Italy are expected at Pakistan Automotive Parts show (PAPS 2017), 3-5 March 2017 at Expo Centre Karachi. Mashood has firmly announced that he will work closely with OEMs to safeguard the interests of auto motive industry. He also committed he will work with the MOC, MOI, FBR, EDB and planning commission in order to formulate such measures which are required for automotive industry. The executive committee and members of PAAPAM congratulated Mashood Ali Khan and hoped that he will resolve the problems being faced by the automotive vending industry. Mashood Ali Khan thanked the members for having confidence in him and assured to solve their problems and boost their sales on a fast track basis.
