Arshid Mehmood Kiani appointed as Deputy Attorney General


Islamabad—Arshid Mehmood Kiani, a notable senior lawyer, has been appointed as Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan (DAG). According to a notification of the Ministry of Law and Justice Division, his appointment to the post of senior law officer (General-IV) was made after the President of Pakistan in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub section 1 of the section 2 of the Central Law Officers Ordinance 1970 (VII of 1970) accorded his approval. Kiani, a holder of LLM from United Kingdom, had served in Islamabad Bar as the senior member and general secretary. The political and legal circles have also appreciated the decision of his appointment.—APP
