Army’s new approach

87

A welcome statement given by the DG ISPR in which he explicitly outlined the policy of army regarding country’s security, economic and political matters. Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor stressed upon the institutions to work and collaborate in a bid to creating harmony for the smooth functioning of the system. He brushed aside the impression that the Army was flexing its muscles to bring coup in the country. This will surely inject blood into Pakistan’s frail democratic process.
Moreover, he fiercely criticized India for her nefarious designs to destabilize Pakistan. He further poured light on country’s fractured economy and suggested that Army is ready to help out civilian government to elevate the dwindling economy through its pragmatic suggestions. One can easily deduce the conclusion from Army’s being sincere to their constitutionally assigned duty. The Army seems to be serious in eliminating the menace of terrorism from Pakistan. For civilian government, there is a lesson to be learnt; the Army is not interested in de-railing democratic process.
