All-Karachi Inter-School Qirat contest


Karachi—An All-Karachi Inter-School ‘Hifz-o-Qirat’ Competition 2016 was held under the aegis of Defence Authority Iqra Model School Ph-VIII here on Friday.
As many as 34 students from 17 leading educational institutions of the metropolis participated in the event.
Prof Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Sani, Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology Karachi, was the chief guest.
In his address he emphasized the significance of learning and recitation of the Holy Quran and understanding of its meanings. He said that Holy Quran is a source of eternal guidance and inspiration for the mankind.
Hafiz Sani stated that recitation of the Holy Book brings a spiritual and intellectual transformation in a person and greatly impacts human life in true letter and spirit.
He further said that the spirit of Islam envisaged mankind to strive for seeking constant knowledge and advancement in life while practicing its teachings and values in its real essence.
Hafiz Sani pointed out that the best way to follow Holy Quran was to practice its teachings in one’s daily life.
In the Hifz-o-Quran competition Ms Tayyaba of Hira Foundation School got the first position while Ayesha Nisar of Defence Authority Iqra Model School DHA Phase-VIII and Abdul Rahman Noor of City School Darakshan Campus were second and third respectively.—APP
