Within 48 hours the militants from Afghanistan launched another ambush on the security posts in Khyber agency and the alert troops effectively repulsed the attack and gunned down at least three terrorists in the retaliatory fire. Earlier on Friday militants from Afghan border attempted to attack a check-post in Khyber Agency and in an exchange of fire two FC personnel were martyred and six terrorists were when the Pakistani forces responded promptly.
Sources in the political administration said a group of terrorist from across the
border attacked a Pakistani security post in Khyber agency Sunday morning that was effectively responded by the alert Jawaans of the security forces who mowed down at least three miscreants and while other managed to flee after being checked by the troops.
“The terrorists once again attacked the check post and received a befitting reply from the army that in retaliatory fire killed at least three militants believed to have come from Afghanistan”. Officials said. There were, however, no reports of any casualties from the security forces side. Also in the this month, five soldiers of the Pakistan Army had lost their lives in a cross-border “terrorist attack” on three Pakistani border posts along the Pak-Afghan border area. The Pakistan Army reportedly killed over 15 suspected terrorists in their retaliatory action at the time. Pakistan has already sealed its border at Torkham Khyber agency and Chaman in Baluchistan last month, after a series of bomb blasts in the country in a short span of ten days that killed over a 100 people and wounded around 300 hundreds all over the country. The militants from Afghanistan have been crossing into Pakistan territory for the last many years and lunching assaults both on the security forces as well as the local people mostly in Bajaur, Khyber and Mohmand agencies as well as Dir district and in the process killed large number of men in uniform and the innocent locals including females and children though in retaliatory fire the Pakistani security forces also mowed down scores of miscreants from the other side of the border. The Military authorities as well as the Pakistani government have been lodging strong protest with the previous Afghan government over this naked aggression asking those at the helm of affairs to check the ambushes launched by the miscreants from their safe heavens inside Afghanistan, but the US influenced Afghan government paid no heed to this serious and continued violation of the territorial integrity of the neighbouring Pakistan.
