In occupied Kashmir, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has said that the authorities have been continuously denying medical facilities to its illegally detained Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, in jail.
The DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “It is a well-knit plot to murder Aasiya Andrabi in custody. She was kept under house detention till April 26 and later booked under draconian, Public Safety Act (PSA) and was taken to a Jammu jail.”
She said that Aasiya Andrabi was suffering from various ailments, adding that while in custody in May, she was taken to a police hospital but the treatment was left midway and she was shifted to Jammu jail where all medical facilities were snapped completely.
Nahida Nasreen said Aasiya is suffering from many diseases and the denial of treatment for asthma at the Jammu jail has worsened her condition. Since her shifting to Srinagar from Jammu, she is still suffering from acute asthma attack and there seems no relief to it. It seems that it is a plot to put her life in danger, she added.
The DeM General Secretary said denial of medical facilities to the ailing party chairperson will not be tolerated as she is an asset to the resistance movement in Kashmir. This puppet regime must remember that any harm done to Aasiya will have serious consequences and the authorities will be responsible for that, she further added.—KMS
