Bishkek—A strong earthquake hit Kyrgyzstan close
to the country’s border with China, killing 60
people and setting off a race to help a remote
village where victims were concentrated,
officials said Monday.
The quake late Sunday measured a magnitude 6.6,
according to the US Geogolical Survey (USGS) and
destruction was concentrated on Alaisky district
on the the mountainous border. At least one big
aftershock was also reported.
Kabul—The war in Afghanistan cannot be won
militarily and success is only possible through
political means including dialogue between all
relevant parties, the UN’s top official in the
country said on Monday.

asked NATO forces not to challenge the

Movement (MQM) Mr. Altaf Hussain strongly
condemned the suicide bomb blast at the
residence of PML-N, MNA Rasheed Akbar Nowani in
which many people lost their lives and receive
injuries.
Islamabad—Following the Bhakkar suicide blast,
the security has been beefed up in the federal
capital in view of the joint session of
parliament and police have started checking all
exits and entrances of the city.
