9 security men die in terrorist attacks

Peshawar—In two gruesome attacks, the terrorists gunned down at least nine security personnel on a Check post in Mohmand agency Thursday wee hours sending a wave a harassment and anxiety in the region.
The Jamat ul Ahrar group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has owned the responsibility for both the deadly incidents.
Reports reaching here and as confirmed by the military sources said a group of unidentified militants ambushed a security check post of the Kasadaars, a Para-military force, at Yakka Ghund Tehsil of Mohmand agency on the night between Wednesday and Thursday leaving as many security personals in a pool of blood as seven security personals were pronounced dead by the
medics when the victims were rushed to the hospital. The terrorists opened indiscriminate firing at the Karappa check post guarded by the Kasadaars in the midnight leaving at least seven jawaans on duty dead and few others sustained wounds. Sources in the military and the Political administration told Observer adding their dead bodies were shifted to Agency Headquarters Hospital.
Earlier, in the midnight, the miscreants launched an attack on a tube well operated through solar energy in Pindialay, Darwazgae area in the Mohmand agency that resulted in the killing of two troops guarding the installation. Officials said the armed attackers first gunned down the two security personals and later also set the solar Tube well as fire. The security forces are reported to have kicked off search and net operation in the region following the two gory incidents and apprehended many suspects yet the sources said the real culprits remained at large.
The operation, continued till the filing of this report. It may be recalled that Mohmand agency less volatile compared to other tribal agencies though couple of incidents were reports during the last few months. In the meanwhile, the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Acting Governor Asad Qaiser on Thursday has strongly condemned terrorist attacks on security personnel of Khasadaar Force at Karappa and Machni areas of Mohmand Agency and expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious innocent lives.
In a statement, the Acting Governor expressed heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and with injured he termed the terrorist attacks as cowardly acts. Governor said such attacks could not deter the national resolve to eliminate the wave of militancy and menace of terrorism. The Acting Governor said, those who play with the innocent lives deserve no leniency and will be brought to the court of justice at any cost. He said that Pakistani nation stand united with military in the war against terrorism and it will be rooted out with the force of unity.
