5,538 power pilferers held


Faisalabad—FESCO teams claim to have arrested 5,538 power pilferers from various parts of the region during September 2016. FESCO spokesman Tahir Sheikh said here Thursday that FESCO teams checked electricity supply meters by paying door-to-door visits in all eight districts of the region and detected 5,538 cases of power pilferage during September.
Out of them 151 persons were involved in power pilferage of heinous nature. Therefore, complaints have been submitted to the police stations concerned for registration of cases. A total of Rs 36.8 million fine has been imposed on other power pilferers by sending them detection bills, he added.
Meanwhile, the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has issued shutdown program for Friday for necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines.
According to the schedule, power supply from Lalian City, Ahmad Nagar, Riaz Abad, Owais Qarni, Kanwan Wala and Langar Makhdoom feeders emanating from 132-KV Lalian grid station will remain suspended from 9am to 12 noon whereas Wahla, New Dawar, Sangra, Factory Area and Chundi Rehan feeders will observe shutdown from 1pm to 4pm on Friday (October 14).
Similarly, electricity supply from Khiyaban Colony feeder emanating from 220-KV Jaranwala Road grid station, Edan Valley and S-II feeders originating from 132-KV Scarp Colony grid station, Qamar Mashani, City, Tarug, Qabook Khail, Isa Khail, Ali Khail and Allah Ditta Khail feeders emanating from 66-KV Tarug grid station, Ghazni and Taja Zai feeders originating from 66-KV Tajazai grid station (PESCO) will remain suspended.—APP
