FR Peshawar region to be ‘Polio Free’

Peshawar—Tribesmen belonging to FR (Frontier Region) Peshawar area Wednesday expressed the resolve of maintaining the status of their area as ‘Polio free’ by fully cooperating with departments dealing in eradication of the crippling disease from the country. Tribesmen who gathered here on Wednesday at a ceremony to inaugurate polio vaccination campaign in FR Peshawar, said they will fully ensure that each and every child in the area has been administered polio drops.

Ten dead, 5 injured in road crash

Khairpur/sargodha—Nine people including one woman lost their lives and 5 were injured when a bus met an accident near Khairpur. As per details, a bus carrying 130 pilgrims from Shah Shehbaz Qalandar Urs in Sehwan collided with a car near Khairpur. The CNG tank of the car exploded in the impact causing blazing fire that en-gulfed the bus, killing 9 people including a woman at the spot and left 5 in-jured. The dead bodies have been shifted to Gambhat, Hangoroja and Rani Pur hospi-tal.

‘Research cell at Bhitshah historic achievement’

Hyderabad—Provincial Secretary, Culture Department, Abdul Aziz Uqaili has said that it was first time in the history of Pakistan that present government has established Research Cell on Sufism with headquarter at Bhitshah and subordinate centres at Sehwan Sharif and Daraza Sharif to promote tolerance, love & affection among the human being. He was talking to the media men at Cultural Complex Sehwan Sharif on the eve of 2nd day annual urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) .He said that this Research Cell has been established with the help of Chief Minister fund of Rs.10 million with its headquarter at Bhitshah and subordinate centres headed by Dr.G.A.Allana renowned scholar & researcher to do research on Sufism, poetry and message for man kind of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and Hazrat Sachal Sarmast.

Dacoity attempts foiled

Islamabad—National Highways & Motorway Police has foiled two attempts of dacoities on National Highway (GT Road) near Patoki and Kramabad by prompt action. As per details, a bus of Asghar Dogar company bearing No. MLS-5286, which was going from Vahari to Lahore carrying 40 passengers. When the bus reached near Patoki, 05 armed dacoits stopped the bus on gunpoint with firing in the air and forcibly boarded in the bus for dacoitie and ordered to move the bus on the link road. The NH&MP patrolling officers PO Mumtaz Saeed and PO Abdul Khaliq immediately rushed to the spot after hearing the voice of firing.

NWA hoarders warned of strict action

Miranshah—Political Agent North Waziristan Agency (NWA) Siraj Ahmad Khan on Wednesday said that the political administration would take strict action against hoarders during the month of Ramazan in Miranshah, headquarters of NWA. Talking to reporters, PA Siraj Ahmad said that government will never show leniency towards those showing slackness in running the development projects which could mar the economic prosperity of the region.
