Govt promoting school education: MujtabaLahore—Provincial Minister for Education, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman said on Tuesday the Punjab government was pursuing a comprehensive policy for promotion and upgradation of school education. Talking to a delegation of schoolteachers, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman said that 3,068 primary and middle schools had been upgraded at a cost of Rs 13,005 million during the last four years.Govt struggling to reduce population growthLahore—Parliamentary Secretary in Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammed Arshad has said the government is striving hard to bring down population growth rate from 1.98 per cent to 1.49 per cent. LHC seeks report from NCA principalLahore—Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday sought a report from the principal National College Of Arts (NCA) by September 6 on a petition seeking directions for the registration of a case against him and 13 others for publishing objectionable material in an art magazine, Sohbet. The chief justice also issued notice to four magazine editors for the next date of hearing. |
