Shahbaz abolishes parchi fee at taxi, rickshaw stands

Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced immediate abolishment of Parchi System (receipt system) at taxi and rickshaw stands throughout Lahore. He said that poor taxi and rickshaw drivers were being exploited and charged more than 10 rupees in the name of Parchi system. He said that the decision to do away with Parchi system will provide relief to taxi and rickshaw drivers. He said that government officers should serve the masses with commitment and dedication and address public complaints on priority basis.

PML-N to put country on road to prosperity: Hamza

Lahore—Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif MNA has said that only PML-N can put the country on the road to development and prosperity. He said that Muslim League-N considers public service as a form of worship and not politics while on the other hand the aim of politics of the rulers sitting in Islamabad is to fill their pockets from the development funds. He said that in order to save Pakistan, it would have to rid of Ali Baba and Forty Thieves as early as possible.

DCO visits relief monsoon camps

Lahore—DCO Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal Sunday visited monsoon and flood relief camps established alongside River Ravi and inspected the arrangements. Relief camps were established by Civil Defense, Rescue 1122, District Administration, WASA, LWMC and Health department. The DCO Lahore expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements and said that the district government would be ready to tackle emergency like situation. He inspected the arrangements at River Ravi by riding on boat.

Population welfare awareness campaign tarts

Lahore—Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that Population Welfare Department has started awareness campaign regarding population welfare in the province under which logistic management system is being introduced with the cooperation of USAID and deliver project. She stated this during departmental briefing of Population Welfare Department in her office, here today. She said that on the international population welfare day, the department has prepaired a comprehensive planning at provincial level under which awareness would be given to couples through seminars and debates and information would be provided about family planning and prosperous family.

PML-N to oppose dual nationality bill

Lahore—Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) media coordinator Muhammad Mehdi has said the PML-N will oppose legislation and implementation of dual nationality bill as it goes against the national interests. He said in neighboring country India even ordinary citizens were not permitted to hold dual nationality not to speak of the officers holding sensitive posts.
