Govt committed to welfare of minorities: PMIslamabad—A delegation of minorities led by Dr Paul Bhatti, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Harmony, called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at his Parliament House Chamber today and assured their full support to the democratic government for strengthening democracy and upholding Constitution. The delegation complimented the Prime Minister for keeping up legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by promoting policy of reconciliation and working for welfare of the masses. The delegation appreciated the Prime Minister for allocating development funds to parliamentarians of all political parties.CM approves KKK Varsity at KarakStaff Reporter Peshawar—Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has formally approved establishment of full fledge University named after Khushal Khan Khattak in Karak and directed for fulfilling the entire expenses of the University from the gas royalty of district Karak. The CM termed private land adjacent to district jail near district headquarters complex Karak as final for site of the proposed university.
Admn fails to complete roads projectsNazir Siyal Larkana—Larkana Development Package (LDP) roads still in doldrums, while proposed by-pass section 4 and section 6R at various locations could not be approved due to inefficiency of district administration revenue department NHA failed to attain the objectives. There are various flaws at four corners by-pass roads at Larkana, as per document district administration could not handed over possession to the executing agency or National Highway Authority (NHA).
Malam Jabba receives 14 mm rainStaff Reporter Peshawar—Malam Jabba, the beautiful skiing resort of Swat district, has received 14milimeter rain, making the weather pleasant. According to Met Office here, Mithi has received 28mm, Malam Jabba 14mm, Astore 2mm, Muzaffarabad, Skardu 01mm in last 24 hours. The tourists are seen visiting Malam Jabba to enjoys pleasant weather.
Seasonal low lies over West Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending southeastwards. Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, isolated dust-thunderstorm rain is likely in Rawalpindi, D.G Khan, Malakand, Hazara, Bannu, D.I Khan, Zhob, Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad divisions Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours.
Hot weather to prevailIslamabad—Pakistan Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast mainly hot and dry weather to prevail in most parts of the country. However isolated rain or dust-thunderstorm is expected in north east Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob,Kalat, Sibbi divisions), KPK (Bannu, D.I.Khan, Peshawar divisions), D.G Khan and Larkana divisions during evening or night. |
