PML-N to bring country out of darkness: Shahbaz

Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that due to criminal negligence of corrupt and incapable rulers, Pakistan is facing severe energy crisis today, but Pakistan Muslim League-N, after coming to power, would bring the country and the nation out of the darkness and towards an era of light and prosperity.

Law enforcers advised to use social media

Lahore—Crime Investigation’s world is being supported through social media platforms. Hence, the time has come for law enforcement agencies in Pakistan to use social media for resolution of complex crime cases, said the social media expert, Asad Malik. He said Facebook conversations may resolve crime investigations, and it may change everything as far as criminal justice is concerned. In Western countries, such cases have multiplied due to the sharing of personal information and private life through social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and text messages.

ECP bans electoral camps outside polling stations

Lahore—Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has imposed a ban for setting up polling camps outside the polling stations by political candidates and parties. The candidates would also be not allowed to provide transport to the voters for the purpose of pick and drop during the polling. The candidates have also been forbidden to distribute the polling slips at the doorstep of their voters. These decisions were taken at a high level meeting chaired by acting Chief Election Commissioner and also attended by provincial election commissioners of all four provinces and senior officials.

US urged to respect int’l law

Lahore—Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has impressed upon the US to respect international laws and give up its activities against Islam. He was talking to an Iranian delegation led by head of the World Assembly of Taqrib (proximity) among the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatullah Muhammad Ali Taskheeri, which called on him at Mansoora. He said that UN sanctions against Iran and US patronage to Israel potrayed US double standards.

Changes in gut bacteria may trigger rheumatoid arthritis

RESEARCHERS including one of an Indian origin have found that the billions of bugs in our guts regulate the immune system and related autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Larger-than-normal populations of specific gut bacteria may trigger the development of diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and possibly fuel disease progression in people genetically predisposed to this crippling and confounding condition, say the scientists, at Mayo Clinic and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
